Visakhapatnam: The Bobbili police on Thursday arrested auto-rickshaw driver V. Naresh, who attacked and attempted to rape two sisters near Komatipalle area under Bobbili police station limits in Vizianagaram on Wednesday. As per reports, two sisters Swathi and Pavani, both are native of Komatipalle had gone to Bobbili for shopping on Wednesday.
When the girls are returning to their hometown in an auto-rickshaw on Wednesday evening, the auto-driver misbehaviour with the girls and he tried to rape one of the girls. Sensing danger, the girl raised alarm, but Naresh has beaten her with an iron rod, resulting, the girl fell down from the auto. The auto-driver again tried to rape another girl, who jumped from the moving auto-rickshaw.
Later, the girls informed their parents and others over the phone and the injured girls were admitted to hospital. Sources said that the driver Naresh has consumed heavy spirit on Wednesday and tried to rape the girls, who are travelling in his auto. In a bid to escape from the spot, Naresh hit a structure and fell down from the auto. Based on the complaint from the victims, the police nabbed Naresh told that Naresh has involved in many property offences and he is a rowdy-sheeter.
