New Delhi/Lucknow: Three minors were arrested for a brutal attack on a Swiss couple at Fatehpur Sikri near Agra in UP on Sunday that left Quentin Jeremy Clerc (24) with a fractured skull and a clot in his brain and his girlfriend Marie Droz (24), a broken arm and multiple bruises.
A day after the conclusion of India's biggest tourism festival, aimed at increasing the tourist footfall in the country, the Swiss couple were harrassed by the group with the woman forced to take selfies with them. The harassment soon turned into an attack so brutal that doctors said Clerc had suffered hearing impairment. The couple said, that as they lay on the ground bloodied and bruised, passersby began taking videos of them on their mobile phones instead of helping them. External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj has asked for a report from the UP Government and sent MEA officials to the hospital.
