Nellore: Kanigiri police on Tuesday arrested three youth for circulating a video on social media in which one of them is seen molesting a girl. Shockingly one of the three youths is the the girl’s lover and it is he who encouraged his friend to molest the girl after taking her to a secluded place and recorded the same on his mobile.
Police detained the three Sairam, Koteswar Rao alias Karthik and Pavan of Indiranagar Colony in Kanigiri following a case filed by the parents of the girl. All of them are educated and the girl also pursuing her graduation in a local college.
According to the police, one of the accused Karthik is in love with the girl of Indiranagar Colony at Kanigiri. Her parents said the accused sent a the girl’s friend to their house on August 29 to bring her to Kasinayana temple located on the outskirts of Kangiri.
The three youths and the two girls went to a nearby forest area and Karthik encouraged his friend Pavan to molest the girl alleging that she is cheating on him and deserves the punishment.
While recording the action on his mobile, he told Sairam to disrobe the girl even as she was crying and pleading Karthik to let her go. In the video footage, the girl’s friend was seen trying to rescue her but Sairam prevented her from interfering.
The boys left the scene after threatening to release the video if she goes to the police. However, they uploaded the same on the social media and the parents lodged a complaint with police after some relatives alerted them after noticing the girl in the video. Kanigiri SI Srinivasa Rao said they have taken the three accused into custody.
