Telangana: CBIT professor booked for rape

Based on a complaint from the victim, a case was booked by Uppal police against the accused under relevant Sections.

Hyderabad: An assistant professor of CBIT was allegedly booked for rape by Uppal police for cheating his former classmate, with whom he had a five-year- long relationship in the pretext of marriage. The man was identified as R. Ranga Reddy, aged about 27, working as an assistant professor in CBIT.

“The accused who was in a relationship with the 26-year-old victim and had sexually exploited her. When she asked him about marriage, he started avoiding her stating her caste as the reason” said police inspector of Uppal, Y. Narasimha Reddy.

Based on a complaint from the victim, a case was booked by Uppal police against the accused under relevant Sections. No arrests has been made yet. Police is investigating the case.
