Chennai: A 38-year-old policeman who was deemed missing for more than a week was found dead on the shores of Ennore Sea on Friday. The policeman, Sri Ramulu was working as a head constable with the Royapuram traffic police. Police sources said that he was missing from August 18.
Meanwhile on Friday evening, police secured a body washed ashore near the Ennore coast and found it to be that of the missing policeman. The body was moved to the Government Stanley Hospital for autopsy. Police investigations revealed that Sri Ramulu was on medical leave since August 13. Meanwhile, five days later, he left the house and never returned. His family made futile searches at the places he frequents and filed a police complaint last Wednesday, police sources said. Police suspect it to be a case of suicide as the deceased cop had a history of medical ailments.
