Coimbatore: As many as 11 passengers were injured when a private bus collided head-on with a truck on Saturday morning near Echanari in the suburbs of Coimbatore.
According to police, a private bus with 50 passengers started from Tenkasi on Friday night, heading for Coimbatore. Nearing Echanari junction in the wee hours, the bus collided with a container truck heading for Karumathampatty from Kochi.
Under its impact, the bus overturned immediately injuring 11 including three women, the driver Mariappan and the additional driver. A woman got stuck inside the bus after collision.
