More complaints poured in as the news spread.

Kochi: A 27-year-old man was arrested on Friday for allegedly cheating people by promising to provide jobs in Kochi Metro. Sreelesh, a native of Vaduthala, was taken into custody following a probe into the complaint of one Vishnu. More complaints poured in as the news spread. “He used to tell victims that Kochi Metro Rail was hiring and claimed he had connections to secure them a job. He made them believe that he could get them a job and used to take money,” police said. Vishnu handed over around Rs 69,000 while another victim Arun gave Rs 50,000 to Sreelesh, they said. However, the accused went underground after getting the money. The cops arrested him from Kochi while acting on a tip-off.
