Chennai: Nearly a month after a Pondicherry-based businessman was abducted for Rs 15 lakh ransom, the Madhuranthakam police have arrested the mastermind and his two aides, who had planned the abduction, on Thursday morning.
The arrested were identified as Gnanasekaran (28) of Kotturpuram and his aides Suresh and Murali. According to a police source, the Madhuranthakam police had tried to stop a car on Chennai - Trichy National Highway near Salavakkam on Thursday morning. “But the car fled past the police ensuing a hot chase for 1.5 km. The car was stopped and the trio was arrested. Gnanasekaran was the one who planned the abduction,” the source added.
