Robbery gang busted, four criminals nabbed in Hyderabad
Hyderabad: West Zone police busted an interstate gang and arrested four people who kidnapped and killed a trader for just Rs 230.
The gang used to stand near MGBS bus station and rob pedestrians by forcibly dragging them to the isolated river bed of Musi. They robbed three people in the last two weeks in the same manner, in which one victim died and two others were injured.
The suspects, Iqbal Khan from Madhya Pradesh, Rehan Ansari from Bihar, Ilyas Ali Khan from ToliChowki and Shaik Javeed from Bidar had started out with petty thefts and then turned to full scale robbery.
According to police, on July 19, the four followed Shaik Abdul Quadeer, while he was coming out of MGBS bus station at around 9 pm.
“The victim was proceeding towards Shivaji Bridge. When he reached a spot near the electrical sub-station, they caught hold of him and dragged him to the Musi river bed. One of them throttled him and while another person sat on his chest. Then they beat him up till he fell unconscious. Though they assumed the victim was having a lot of money, they could only find Rs 230 and a mobile phone. The victim died on the spot due to injuries and suffocation," said N. Koti Reddy, Additional DCP, Commissioner’s Task Force.
Next day, that is on July 20, three members of the gang again went to MGBS and walked till the electrical sub-station searching for new prey. Ilyas went to the main road and asked a biker to give him a lift till the substation. When the victim did so, the others pounced on the victim and dragged him to the Musi river bed. After beating the victim, they took Rs 100 and two mobile phones from him. The injured victim, later approached the police.
After two days, they again targeted another person, who was answering nature’s call near the Musi River. They beat him up and took his gold bracelets and Rs 2,000.
Police have booked a case against the suspects for murder, robbery and inflicting injuries through violent attacks.
