Hyderabad: Unable to bear the harassment of her son-in-law, a 56-year-old housewife jumped off from a four-storey building in Prashantnagar on Monday. The deceased, Padma, was the wife of Kuchan Pradeep, 59, a private sector employee. “The couple’s daughter, Swetha, was married to Chittiprolu Hari and they had two children,” said SI Nayeem of Medipally.
“Hari was unemployed and his wife and children shifted to the girl’s parents. He was constantly harassing her. On Monday morning, he called Padma, and threatened her. Fearing the threats and unable to stomach the harassment she jumped from the fourth floor of their apartment and committed suicide,” the sub inspector added.
Based on a complaint from Padma’s husband, Pradeep, Medipally police booked a case under Section 306 (Abetment of suicide).
