Hyderabad: Woman, son found dead; husband absconding

Around 9 am on Sunday, Deepak and Chanda left to go to work, while Rajesh stayed back at home.

Hyderabad: A woman and her 4-year-old son were found murdered at their home in Jinkal-vada, Sanathnagar, un-der Cyberabad police commissionerate on Sunday. The police suspect that the woman’s husband, who is currently absconding, could have resorted to the offence. A case of murder has been registered for the probe.

According to the Cyberabad police, Rajesh, along with his wife Urmila (27) and son Kishan (4), arrived in the city on May 12 from Devaria in Uttar Pradesh. The couple, along with their child, moved in with Urmila’s sister Chanda and her husband Deepak, who had been living in a rented house in Jinkalvada. Deepak and Chanda were employed in private firms, while Rajesh was looking for a job in the city.

Around 9 am on Sunday, Deepak and Chanda left to go to work, while Rajesh stayed back at home. Deepak returned home around 1 pm and found that his main door was locked. He tried reaching Rajesh on his phone but to no avail. Two hours later, the door was still locked.

Having run out of options, Deepak broke the door open and entered the house only to find Urmila lying in a pool of blood with an injury to her head and Kishan floating dead inside a bucket of water in the bathroom.

Upon receiving the information, a team from Sanathnagar police station along with the clues team and dog squad rushed to the spot and inspected the crime scene. The bodies of the mother-son duo were recovered and shifted to the Gandhi Hospital mortuary for postmortem examination.

Prima facie, it was found that Rajesh and Urmila had got into a quarrel over financial issues while in Uttar Pradesh, which is being suspected to be the reason behind the murder.

The police have registered a case of murder and are on the hunt for the absconding Rajesh.
