Bengaluru: Drunk man murders paramour, arrested
Bengaluru: A 45-year-old man brutally murdered his 35-year-old paramour by smashing her head with an iron rod and dumbbells during a drunken brawl at his house in Kurubarahalli in Mahalakshmi Layout police station limits on Friday night.
The police have arrested the accused, identified as Raju a daily wage worker, and the deceased has been identified as Kala.
After killing her, Raju made a vain attempt to dispose of the body, but gave up and fled.According to the police, Raju is married and has two children. But his wife and children left him following a domestic row.
Preliminary investigation revealed that around three months ago Raju came in contact with Kala and they began having an affair. On Friday night, Raju came home and the duo consumed liquor.
Kala picked-up quarrel and began hurling abuses at Raju. In a fit of rage, Raju grabbed an iron rod and smashed her head.
He later also hit Kala with dumbbells and she died on the spot. Raju then wrapped the body with a bedsheet and tried to drag it off. From his second floor house he came to the first, but then abandoned the body near the stairs and ran away.
Police further said the murder came to light only on Saturday morning, when the owner noticed the body and informed the police.
The police team visited the spot and based on the statement of neighbour zeroed in on Raju. While questioning him he broke down and confessed to the crime.
