Bengaluru: Three held for rowdy's murder

Aruna was hacked to death in Ravi Bar & Restaurant in Gangondanahalli on May 20 night.

Bengaluru: The Chandra Layout police have arrested three people for recently murdering a rowdy sheeter at a bar. Investigations revealed that old rivalry was the motive for the murder.

The accused have been identified as Arun Kumar alias Thyaape, 37, of Maddur in Mandya, Chetan alias Ice Gadde, 22, of JJ Nagar and Akash alias Kariya, 23, of Rajajinagar. They had brutally murdered Aruna Kumar alias Vaale, 26, a resident of BCC Layout in Chandra Layout and a rowdy sheeter in K. P. Agrahara police station. The victim was involved in a murder case.

Aruna was hacked to death in Ravi Bar & Restaurant in Gangondanahalli on May 20 night. The police, who launched a probe, found that Aruna had come to the bar along with his friends to discuss a property matter.

The police verified cases against Aruna and found that he and his associates had attacked one, Narendra alias Bettappa, in Kumbalgodu police station limits two years ago.

Based on credible information, accused Arun and two others were picked up. They confessed that they had conspired with Narendra, who was bed ridden after the attack, and decided to finish Aruna, the police said.

After getting information that he was in the bar, the gang had attacked and murdered him.

Other 3-4 accused are absconding and efforts are on to nab them, the police added.
