Pawan Kalyan booked for fraud, forgery and cheating
Hyderabad: A case was booked against Tollywood actor and Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan at the Banjara Hills police station for allegedly making allegations against news channels TV9, ABN Andhra Jyothi, TV5 and their managements.
The case was booked based on a complaint from Gundelly Rajesh, member of Telangana Union of Working Journalists (TUWJ), who alleged that the actor and several others had recently tweeted and posted a video online which shows actress Sri Reddy abusing the actor with an unparliamentary word.
Mr Rajesh said the channels had telecasted a muted video but the tweets by Mr Kalyan and other had the unedited original video. The complainant also said the actor’s fans were repeatedly making threats and abusive calls to the staff of these media houses.
Sri Reddy dragged Pawan Kalyan into the debate by demanding his reaction to her allegations of exploitation of women in the film industry. While making her demands, she made an objectionable comment on Pawan Kalyan’s mother, and made an indecent gesture.
“Pawan Kalyan and others have resorted to this crime by fraudulently and dishonestly committed forgery of the above said electronic document by illegally downloading it from the website without obtaining any consent from TV9 and showcasing it as genuine for the purpose of cheating and harming the reputation of journalists in general, and those of TV9 in particular,” said Mr Rajesh in his complaint to the Banjara Hills police.
Earlier on Wednesday, another complaint was lodged with the Central Crime Police Station in Hyderabad against Pawan by a manager of the ABN Andhra Jyothi news channel, alleging that the media house was “being targeted with forged evidences”.
