Kakinada: Telugu Desam leader and Kovvuru mandal Vemuluru panchayat vice president Srini Satya Vara Prasad (51) was found murdered at his house during early hours of Sunday. He had been alone in the house.
Kovvuru DSP D.S.N. Varma, who visited the scene of murder, said Satya Prasad spent time with his friends up to 10:30 pm on Saturday. After 11 p.m., he had phoned some relatives.
Satya Prasad was found dead in early hours of Sunday. He had been strangled to death. His head bore injuries of being hit against the wall.
The DSP said investigators, including dog squad and clues team, have scanned the place for evidence. They are checking out people who have been found on the TD leader’s call list.
Kovvuru police have registered a case based on a complaint filed by the wife of deceased.
TD leaders J.S. Chowdary, K. Ramakrishna and K.S. Jawahar, former minister, visited the spot and consoled family members of Satya Prasad.
