Hyderabad: Task force officials in the city apprehended 17 men involved in card games and gambling in three different incidents on Sunday and Monday.

In the first raid on Friday evening, sleuths of the commissioner’s task force, central zone team along with the Chikkadpally police, apprehended six men from a gaming house at Sankalpa Residency in Bagh Lingampally.

They have been identified as Anasuya, 60, Marri Krishna Rao, 52, B. Suresh Babu, 47, Maagani Chinna Masaiah alias Anand, 40, and Maddela Ganesh, 36, and D.Ramakrishna, 40. The officials seized Rs 14,100, cards and six cell phones. The six, along with seized property, were handed over to Chikkadpally police.

In the second incident, the inspector of west zone task force Gattu Mallu and his team raided a gaming house at Mahavirnagar under Tappachabutra station limits on Sunday night and apprehended 11 persons.

The officials seized Rs 49,590 and cards and handed them over to Tappachabutra police. Inspector Balu Chowhan of Mirchowk police said his team arrested five persons, all natives of Bihar at Dewan Devdi where they were involved in card games. They seized cash worth Rs 3,100 and four cell phones.
