Chennai: 4 survive car's 10-metre fall from bypass

The occupants of the car, all in their early 20's, were natives of Tiruvannamalai and had come to attend a function in Tambaram.

Chennai: Four persons in a car miraculously survived with injuries after the car they were travelling in hit the parapet wall on Irumbuliyur bypass near Tambaram and fell from a height of 10 metres onto the ground on Sunday night. The occupants of the car, all in their early 20's, were natives of Tiruvannamalai and had come to attend a function in Tambaram. They were returning home when the accident happened.

Police said that Karthik (25) who was driving the car lost control and first rammed onto the parapet wall of the flyover after which the car fell from a height. Most of the car was mangled in the accident, despite which the occupants of the car - Jeeva, Dinesh and Kanagaraj - survived with injuries. Locals along with the help of Chromepet Traffic investigation wing rushed to the scene and moved them to the Rajiv Gandhi Government General hospital where they are undergoing treatment.
