Nine arrested for Kalapathar murder
HYDERABAD: Nine persons, including a juvenile, were arrested by Kalapathar police in connection with the murder of a 45-year-old businessman.
Md. Ahmed, the businessman, was hacked to death on November 22 in Mecca Colony. Kalapathar police registered a case and started investigating. They found that Ahmed was having an extramarital relationship with a woman for the last five years.
About two years ago, a panchayat was held in the presence of elders of both the woman and the businessman’s families. Ahmed was warned against continuing his relationship with the woman. However, Ahmed did not stop and continued visiting the woman in her husband’s absence, leading to his murder.
The accused have been identified as Md. Azmathullah, 17-year-old son of the woman, Abdul Subhan, 19, Abdul Samad Khan, 19, Md. Sohail Khan, 22, Md. Salman Ali Khan, 27, Hyder Hussain, 33, Abdul Aziz, 19, and Md. Azhar, 19. Police seized one axe, two knives, a dagger and four bikes used in the offence. The accused have been produced before a court for judicial remand.
