DHARMAPURI: A sordid affair of a minor girl with her cousin brother has tragically led to her murder, allegedly committed to hide their ‘incestuous relationship’ in a village in Dharmapuri district.
On Friday, the Krishnapuram police had recovered the dead body of the minor girl from the custody of her relatives in foiling a plan to cremate the girl’s body without informing the police. In the autopsy conducted on Saturday, it was found that the girl was pregnant and had external injuries on her body. Investigations further revealed that the girl was close to her cousin brother K. Pradap of Pinnachipatti village. He when questioned, admitted to having killed her, police said. He took the girl to an isolated place close to Mullanoor-Nagachandaram over bridge when the victim was on her way to school on Friday. There, the girl was done to death by drowning her head in a pit stored with rain water, said the police.
The accused committed the murder as he was afraid that his relatives would come to know about their affair, added the police source.
