Chauhan inspects poll management, security measures

Hyderabad: Ahead of the Assembly Elections in Telangana state, Rachakonda police commissioner D.S. Chauhan along with the staff on Thursday visited Saroornagar Indoor Stadium to supervise the field-level security arrangements and election management arrangements. The commissioner also visited the strongroom arrangements and reviewed security arrangements.

Speaking on the occasion, Chauhan said that they would do their best to conduct the state Assembly elections in an armed manner.

Specific instructions related to election duties have been given to staff and meetings are also being held with them to provide an understanding of election rules to lower-level staff performing duties at the field level, Chauhan said.

Chauhan stated that all kinds of security arrangements were being made to conduct the elections in all the constituencies that fall in the Rachakonda commissionerate without any irregularities. He also said that old criminals were being bound over and check posts were being set up at necessary places to track unaccounted transfers of cash.

Later the police commissioner conducted court proceedings at the CP camp office in LB Nagar against those who committed crimes and history sheeters with an intention of peaceful completion of elections. As per the criminal procedure, 12 people have been bound over with a view to ensuring that there are no law and order problems till the completion of the elections.
