Hyderabad: A final year computer science engineering student who created a fake Instagram profile in his classmate’s name and posted morphed images of hers, has been arrested and remanded to judicial custody on Thursday.
The girl, 21, a resident of Medipally, is a final year engineering student (CSE) at a private college. Three days ago, she was shocked to find her morphed pictures on Instagram linked to a different profile. The images were posted during January this year.
On Wednesday, the girl approached the Medipally police and lodged a complaint. Medipally sub-inspector of police G. Raghu Ramudu said that with the help of electronic evidence, the accused was identified as Santosh Kumar, who is the victim's classmate. The accused has been arrested and produced before court, the S-I added.
