TIRUPATI: An altercation between fans of two popular actors of Telugu film industry led to the murder of a B.Tech graduate. Vinod Royal, 24, a staunch follower of actor Pawan Kalyan, who was all set to go to the USA for higher studies, was stabbed to death on August 21 in Kolar of Karnataka. Vinod, the only son of Venkatesh and Vedavathi from Tirupati had gone to Kolar to attend an organ donation drive along with his friend Trinadh.
During the event, Vinod shouted slogan in support of Pawan Kalyan which angered Sunil. Others present at the event tried to calm both down. Later, the two again fought over over who was the bigger star among the two actors. Matters got out of hand when Sunil’s friend Akshay stabbed Vinod.
Sunil and his friends rushed Vinod to a nearby hospital, where he was declared brought dead. Kolar police arrested Akshay on Thursday. According to reports, the two other accused were also taken into custody by the police. Police have identified the seven persons allegedly involved in the murder. Vinod's father Venkatesh said that he got the information that only one accused Akshay Kumar was booked and two other accused Sunil and Trinath, who are reportedly came from rich families, were let off by the Kolar police.
