TTD files complaint against eight websites for cheating youth

TIRUPATI: The IT department of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) lodged a police complaint against the operators of eight websites, which are found to be cheating the unemployed youth on the pretext of providing employment in the temple trust with a salary of Rs 1 lakh per month for 10th class pass-outs.

The TTD’s IT wing general manager L.M. Sandeep Reddy lodged a complaint in this regard at the One Town Police Station in Tirumala on Thursday. The IT wing identified these fake websites during their routine monitoring of websites and social media.

Speaking to reporters, Sandeep expressed concern that online fraudsters were trying to entice unemployed youth by promising lucrative jobs at TTD. “Some websites promise Rs 1 lakh per month for 10th pass-outs, which is completely ridiculous.” However, some young people searching for jobs are falling victim to bogus recruiting campaigns organised in the name of the TTD by internet scammers,” he stated.

The TTD IT GM cautioned the youth and general public that the TTD had not conducted any recruitment campaigns recently. “People should be cautious whenever they receive any forwarded links related to recruitment at the TTD, particularly through various social media platforms, because the temple trust never runs any recruitment drive campaigns on social media at all,” he added.

Meanwhile, the temple trust asked worshippers in a statement on Thursday not to believe fake news and fall victim to bogus social media handles. “Whenever there is a recruitment at TTD, it releases a notification through leading newspapers and updates the related information on its official website,” the TTD stated.
