Shamshabad: Principal who kidnapped, raped girl, still at large

Hyderabad: More than two weeks after Akbar Ali 45, headmaster of the government high school at Muchintal in Shamshabad, was charged with kidnap, rape and forcefully marrying a 17-year old girl, he continues to remain at large. Akbar Ali had moved court for anticipatory bail but the police successfully opposed it.

An investigating official said that from the time the case was booked against the headmaster at the Shamshabad, Cyberabad, police station, Akbar Ali and his family were absconding and their house at Shadnagar remains locked. His wife works as a teacher in a government school in a neighboring village and the family has three children.

The official said that Akbar Ali had fled to Mumbai after briefly staying in the city and surrounding areas after the case was filed. “With this clue, teams searched for Akbar Ali in Mumbai but in vain. For now two dedicated teams are working to nab him. We are hopeful of a positive result very soon,” said a senior investigating official from Cyberabad.

It was learnt that while he was in Mumbai Akbar Ali had contacted his advocate to move the the anticipatory bail application Akbar Ali trapped the victim, a resident of Muchintala, and kidnapped and married her and took her to his residence where he allegedly sexually assaulted her on multiple occasions. The girl, a former student of the Muchintal school where Akbar Ali is the headmaster, had a backlog in her Intermediate.

When she approached him for help, he took advantage of her and she was rescued by her parents. after being in his custody for more than a month.
