Chennai: Newly wed man killed over Rs 5,000

The deceased, Dhanasekaran (23) got married only two days ago and was a resident of Thirumullaivoyal, police said.

Chennai: Police on Thursday arrested a 22-year-old man for murdering his friend and dumping his body on the railway tracks near Vyasarpadi, a day ago.

The deceased, Dhanasekaran (23) got married only two days ago and was a resident of Thirumullaivoyal, police said.

He was employed in the cargo section of the Chennai airport and got married to Ranjani, a nursing student on Monday.

On Tuesday evening, Dhanasekaran met his friend, Guganraj alias Settu (22). He had requested Settu to lend him an amount of Rs 5,000.

An argument ensued which culminated in Settu smashing Dhanasekaran's face with a rock, killing him on the spot.

He later dumped Dhanasekaran's body on the railway track. Vyasarpadi Police arrested the accused on Thursday. Dead Body found in Pachayappa's college.
