1 dead as auto rams into lorry in Uppal

Hyderabad: A passenger travelling in an autorickshaw died after the driver rammed the vehicle into a stationary lorry at Uppal on Sunday night.

Dayakar, a resident of Laxminarayana Colony in Uppal, was working as a mason. On Sunday, after finishing work, at around 11.30 pm, he boarded at auto (AP 28 U 3998) at Ramanthapur to go home.

The driver, Kodiga Shiva Kumar, who is also a resident of Laxminarayana Colony, was driving at high speed before he rammed into a parked container on the main road at Uppal.

The police said “accused Shiva Kumar was driving the auto in a rash and negligent manner and rammed the vehicle into a stationary container (HR 55Y 4900). The container was parked at the roadside. Dayakar suffered multiple injuries to his head and limbs and died on the spot.”

A case has been registered against the auto driver and taken into custody for the investigation.
