Bengaluru: Beautician held over sexual abuse

The victim, an engineering student, is from Saudi Arabia.

Bengaluru: A male beautician was arrested by the Yeshwanthpur police after he sexually harassed a woman student from Saudi Arabia at his beauty parlour. The incident took place on March 21, but came to light only now.

The accused has been identified as Lucky Singh, who hails from Haryana had settled down in the city in Mathikere and was working as an assistant in a Jawed Habib beauty parlour.

The victim is a 19-year-old student at an engineering college in Mathikere. She is from Saudi Arabia and had come to the city a year ago to pursue engineering.
According to the police, on March 21, around 7:40 pm, she visited the parlour to get her facial done for the upcoming college fest. As the woman beautician was busy attending another customer, she asked her assistant Lucky Singh to attend the student as it was getting late.

While doing facial massage, he touched her chest and later misbehaved with her by touching her inappropriately. She immediately left the place and the next day she narrated the ordeal to her friends. They helped her lodge a complaint with the Yeshwantpur police.

The Yeshwantpur police immediately arrested him and produced him before the court on Sunday. The police have issued a notice to the owner of the beauty parlor for hiring a male beautician.
