Ballia: A woman allegedly committed suicide after her mother-in-law snatched her mobile phone. Her mother in-law suspected her of having an illicit relationship in Rewati area, police said on Saturday.
The woman, whose husband works in Gujarat, had left her house on March 24 and returned on Friday, following which her mother-in-law scolded her and snatched her mobile phone, SP Manoj Kumar Jha said.
The mother-in-law suspected her of having an illicit relationship with a youth of the same village.
Being irked at mother-in-law’s interference in her personal life, the woman committed suicide by hanging herself, the police said.
