Anantapur: Allegations many against station house officers, circle inspectors

Two CIs from Kurnool were found neglecting duties and failed to control law and order in their jurisdictions.

ANANTAPUR: Janardhan, a sub-inspector from Singanamala police station, was sent to vacancy reserve following alleged role of cooperation in illicit sand mining. Anantapur SP S.V. Rajasekhar Babu initiated action against the SI as he failed to control illicit sand mining at Ulikal sand reach in Singanamala mandal. Ulikal was with rich deposits of quality sand has huge demand in Bengaluru and other parts of Karnataka.

Higher authorities have initiated action against the station house officers over their alleged role in private settlements, matka gambling and other illicit activities in the region.

At least five circle inspectors were ordered for vacancy reserve in Kurnool district in last two weeks. Two CIs from Kurnool were found neglecting duties and failed to control law and order in their jurisdictions.

Two circle inspectors from Adoni sub division were also sent for vacancy reserve following role in encouraging matka gambling and also private settlements.

Kurnool DIG Ramana Kumar ordered to take action against three circle inspectors two weeks ago. Kurnool SP A. Ravikrishna initiated action against another circle inspector at Kurnool city a couple of days ago.

Kadapa SP Navin Gulati was sorting out role of police officials in red sanders smuggling. Though, most of the police officers were putting efforts to nab international smugglers from Delhi, Jaipur, Pune and other parts, few of them had alleged nexus with smugglers.
