Six involved in forgery of property documents and cheating arrested

HYDERABAD: The Malkajgiri Special Operation Team and Bibinagar Police busted a fake property documentation racket with the arrest of six persons. Police said the gang was involved in land fraud by impersonation and forgery of the sale deed documents and had cheated nine victims by forging fake sale deeds worth Rs 7 lakh.

The police recovered the money, two cars and seven mobile phones from the gang.

Police said the prime accused Dadi Dharmender Reddy alias Dharma Reddy who was previously involved in 18 similar cases of forgery and cheating. Another accused, Donthi Sathi Reddy, connived with other offenders in carrying out the fraud.

Police said Sathi Reddy had informed Dharmender Reddy about two plots, No.s 204 and 221, located at Maxima Resort farms, phase-I, at Raghavapuram, each having 1,210 square yards of land, lying vacant for long.

Dharmendar Reddy secured the certified copies of the land documents, created similar fake certificates and forged the general power attorney. They used the fake papers to execute fraudulent sale deeds, D.S. Chauhan, Rachakonda police commissioner, said.

The other accused were identified as Syed Naseer-ur-Rahman (since deceased),
Showkat Ali, Chakali Ramu, Vallapu Ramulu, Gorre Ramesh and witnesses Md Ibrahim and V. Balakrishna. They forged the papers and impersonated landowners and their representatives.

Chauhan said Dharmender Reddy and Sathi Reddy had confessed that they had sold land worth Rs 65 lakhs to different victims, Chauhan added.
