Hyderabad: Boyfriend's rejection forced telecaller Sunitha towards suicide

Hyderabad: Telecaller Sunitha’s lover Pamu Sravan Kumar took money from her on many occasions from the time they started their relationship in 2011, police said. When she asked him to marry her he demanded Rs 6 lakh as dowry and then refused to marry her. On Saturday police booked Sravan Kumar for abetment to suicide, extortion and cheating.

Madhapur ACP M. Ramanakumar said that since 2011 Sravan took almost Rs 1 lakh from Sunitha. Every weekend they used to go for a movie. From CCTV footages police found they watched Shahrukh Khan starrer Raees at Tivoli on January 28. This was their last movie.

On February 10, he picked her up from Secunderabad railway station and dropped her at office. Police also found that Sunitha had converted to Islam and changed her name to Hajra Noor. She also used to visit churches. Her colleagues said that she used to distribute sweets on Ramadan and Eid.

Sunitha set February 14 as deadline for Sravan to give his acceptance and also said that if he did not come to meet her on February 14, she would commit suicide. An analysis of her WhatsApp conversations found that she committed suicide as she was being harassed by Sravan, with whom she had a physical relationship too. Sravan was remanded and his bike and phone were seized.
