Hyderabad: The Nampally court awarded life imprisonment to the three accused persons involved in the murder of Abhay, a 15-year-old from Shahinyat Gunj in 2016.
Abhay was kidnapped when he had gone to buy idlis. Later, the abductors, Sheshu Kumar, 20, from East Godavari, Pondara Ravi, 21, and N. Rammohan, 23, both from Srikakulam, demanded '10 crore as ransom.
Though the family agreed to pay '5 crore, he was killed. Abhay’s body was found stuffed in a carton outside the railway station.
According to the police, Sheshu and his friends had watched the Tollywood film ‘Oka Romantic Prema Katha’ a few days before the kidnapping. The film gave them the idea to kidnap to make money.
Abhay’s luxurious lifestyle made him a target of the kidnappers. Seshu used to often meet Abhay. On Thursday, the court convicted them.
