Hyderabad: Techie held for carrying live bullet at RGI Airport

According to RGI Airport Police, Ashwin Kumar, who is working in the US had come down to his home at Trimulgherry for a vacation.

Hyderabad: A US-based techie was caught with a live bullet at the RGI Airport in the early hours of Thursday. Ashwin Kumar, a native of Secunderabad, was arrested after he was found carrying a 9mm bullet in his baggage. This is the second incident in less than a week. Last Saturday, Mahender Kumar Chaudhary, a student from Hyderabad, who is pursuing his masters in California was arrested with a live bullet. He claimed to have got it from his friend.

According to RGI Airport Police, Ashwin Kumar, who is working in the US had come down to his home at Trimulgherry for a vacation. On Wednesday midnight he was flying back to the United States.

While passing through the security check-in, the personnel intercepted him, checked his baggage and found a live bullet under his clothes in the luggage. He was then handed over to the Airport Police. A case under Arms Act was registered and he was arrested and sent to remand. Police, however, refused to reveal details on how he obtained it.
