Hyderabad: Family of three commits suicide

He was reportedly depressed after his second wife, who was his first wife's sister, went missing a week ago.

Hyderabad: A 30-year-old person committed suicide along with his first wife and 8-year-old daughter on Saturday morning under Adibatla police station limits.

He was reportedly depressed after his second wife, who was his first wife’s sister, went missing a week ago.

According to the police the victims, S. Hanumanth, who was an autorickshaw driver, tied the knot to Chandrakala 10 years ago. The couple had three children Manjula, 8, Radhika, 6 and Anji, 3. Meanwhile when Chandrakala’s health deteriorated, the woman’s family members married Chandrakala’s younger sister Sujatha to Hanumanth and they have two children.

Inspector of Adibatla police P. Narender, said, “Mr Rao used to suspect his second wife was having an affair and used to physically abuse her. As she couldn’t endure the abuse, she left home without informing the family one week ago. Following this, Mr Hanumanth lodged a missing persons complaint.”

“Everything seemed normal when they slept on Friday night, but Rao’s second daughter Radhika started screaming for help in the morning. Their relatives living in the locality heard the young girl scream and broke open the door. They found Hanumanth, Chandrakala and Manjula hanging from the ceiling,” added Narender, a police official.

The Adibatla police rushed the to spot and sent the bodies to Osmania General Hospital for post-mortem. The Adibatla police have registered a case of suspicious death and further investigation is underway.
