Vijayawada: A sub-contractor attempted suicide by trying to hurt himself with a knife on Friday.
Kesani Srinivasa Rao from Brahmana Kodur, Guntur district, was working as president for Irrigation Consumers Uni-on. He worked as a sub-contr-actor for Nallamada drain wo-rks. Contractor Visweswara Rao owed him '30 Lakh. The victim asked for it many times but the contractor did not pay him. Srinivasa Rao decided to commit suicide and came to Visweswara Rao’s residence where he stabbed himself with a knife he brought with him.
Some witness tried to shift him to the hospital but he re-jected. He demanded that Visw-eswara Rao clear the amount. He reported that the contractor along with one retired D.E.E. Surendra were harassing him.
