My son was murdered' : D.K. Ravis mother Gowramma
Bengaluru: The parents of IAS officer D.K. Ravi, who was found dead under mysterious circumstances in March, 2015, are unhappy with the CBI investigation and want the case to be re-investigated by a different CBI team.
Terming CBI investigation as ‘unsatisfactory’, Ravi’s mother Gowramma told reporters at the Press Club here on Friday that her son did not commit suicide but was murdered.
“I and my family are not happy with the final report submitted by the CBI, which termed the death my son as 'suicide for personal reasons’. The case should be re-investigated by a different CBI team as the current one was influenced by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and his cabinet colleagues K.J. George and D.K. Shivakumar,” she said.
She also insisted that Ravi’s body should be exhumed and a fresh post-mortem be conducted which she said would prove that he was murdered.
Gowramma further said that she had not been given supporting documents along with the investigation report, which she said was with the assistant commissioner of Bengaluru South, who is also the divisional executive magistrate.
She maintained that there were lapses on part of CBI in the investigation of her son’s death and the investigation agency officers did not record her three-hour conversation with them. “If I get the documents, I will approach the high court and point out the lapses,” she said.
Advocate Devaraj, who had accompanied Gowramma, said that despite submitting over 20 applications seeking the documents, there was no response from the CBI.
Not interested in politics Responding to a question about her interest in entering politics, Gowramma said that she had no interest in entering politics while maintaining that many people in Kolar had pursued her to contest the ensuing election.
“I haven’t thought about it yet. At present, my priority is to seek a re-investigation into my son's death,” she said.
