Hyderabad: Burglars decamp with 49 tola gold, Rs 5.5L
Hyderabad: In two separate incidents, unidentified burglars broke into locked houses at LB Nagar and Ghatkesar and decamped with around 49 tolas of gold and over '5 lakh cash. The residents of both houses were out visiting their relatives. Kavadi Pulender Reddy, a realtor residing at Aushapur village in Ghatkesar, along with his family had gone to Hayathnagar to attend a cousin’s wedding on Thursday morning. They returned home in the early hours of Friday and found the lock of the main door broken. On entering the house, they found that the almirah was opened using the keys kept under the mattress. He told police that the suspects had decamped with around 25 tolas of gold jewellery and silver articles weighing around 35 tolas and '5 lakh cash. Ghatkesar police registered a case and started probe.
In another case at LB Nagar, Kunukooru Niranjan, working as a reporter in a news channel, had gone to Ghatkesar along with his family to attend a wedding. When they returned home on Thursday night, they found that the main door lock was open and gold jewellery weighing around 24 tolas and '50,000 was stolen from the house.
A case has been registered at LB nagar police station and is under investigation.
