Hyderabad: Juveniles in child home attack watchman, flee

Around 12 boys attacked him and ran away after snatching the keys.

Hyderabad: As many as 12 juveniles, put up at a home run by an NGO, ran away after attacking the watchman in Nagole on Wednesday night. They snatched the keys from watchman Laxmaiah and fled. Police is investigating.

According to police, around 24 boys apprehended in various cases were put up at the NGO Rose Juvenile Home at Kushinagar in Nagole under LB Nagar police station limits.

The watchman, Laxmaiah, aged around 70 years, locked the gate on Wednesday and went to sleep. Around 12 boys attacked him and ran away after snatching the keys. The watchman suffered minor injuries. He was sent to hospital where doctors declared him to be out of danger.

Based on a complaint from the home supervisor Sailu, a case under charges of resistance or obstruction by a person to his lawful apprehension (224 IPC) and voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means (324 IPC) was registered against the twelve boys.

“All the boys who fled from the home were accused in theft cases and petty offences. Teams are working to trace them,” Inspector P Kasi Reddy said.
