ANANTAPUR: A boy was addicted to bad habits and developed a negative mindset against his mother for ignoring him and giving more importance to her daughter. The family paid a huge price for the problems within its confines.
Police on Sunday arrested the 19-year-old boy and shifted him to a juvenile home on the charge that he killed his mother two days ago. Not just this. The mother killed her daughter for addiction to her mobile phone and neglect of her studies – after which, the son hacked his mother by way of retaliation.
Kadapa police said Sheik Kurshida Begum got married to Md Hussain some 20 years ago in Kuwait and the couple had a daughter and son. Begum returned without her husband to Kadapa a few years ago. She noticed that her daughter was neglecting studies and spending more time on her mobile phones. She killed her daughter after a quarrel on this issue a few days ago. Her son later hacked his mother in an act of retaliation, police said based on preliminary enquiries.
Police heard during evidence collection that the son was addicted to bad habits and was angry with his mother because of a feeling she neglected him and favoured her daughter. The boy was spending money lavishly.
Kadapa urban CI SM Ali said the boy fled from the spot after killing his mother and he also tried to destroy evidence.
