Hyderabad: 2 youths held for murder of friend

The deceased person was earlier booked in a case of attempt to murder, said the police.

Hyderabad: Two youths were arrested by the Ghatkesar police on charges of murder of an outsourcing employee of Telangana State Southern Power Distribution Corporation Ltd, who is an accused in attempt to murder case, on Wednesday. The deceased person was earlier booked in a case of attempt to murder, said the police.

Accused Bende Akhilesh, 23, of Uppal and deceased Pasham Rukma Reddy, 27, of Chowdariguda were friends for some time. Due to some disputes between them, Reddy attempted to kill Akhilesh. A case was also booked against Reddy and the case is under investigation by the Uppal police.

Akhilesh recently got to know from some common friends that Reddy was challenging to kill him. On learning this, he got worried about his life and was waiting for a chance to kill Reddy. Ghatkesar inspector P Raghuveer Reddy said, “Rukma Reddy had told his friends that he would kill Akhilesh for sure. Worried Akhikesh hatched a plan to kill Reddy. On Tuesday evening, he called Reddy and informed that he wanted to celebrate the birthday party of their common friend Ranga Uday near a swimming pool in Marpalliguda in Ghatkesar.

“After the trio got drunk, Akhilesh attacked Reddy with a knife, which he carried and killed the latter.”

Late in the night, Akhilesh went to Uppal police station and surrendered confessing to having killed his friend Reddy. On his confession, Uday was arrested during the early hours. The body of the deceased was recovered and sent for autopsy at Gandhi Hospital.
