Hyderabad: A 15-year-old girl was impregnated by her 19-year-old alleged boyfr-iend. The issue came to light when the girl’s mother took her to a hospital to abort the pregnancy.
According to the police, the girl who is studying SSC in a government high school, was brought to Gandhi hospital in Secunderabad, by her mother to abort the foetus.
After learning the girl was a minor, doctors refused their plea and alerted the police officials.
Based on the information, police registered a case of rape and under charges of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences(Pocso) Act.
The suspect identified as Praveen, is a resident of Lothukunta and is working at a private store and had befriended her in the guise of love and impregnated her.
The police arrested the suspect and sent him on remand on Tuesday.
