Hyderabad: 2 arrested for Rs19 lakh heist
Hyderabad: A car driver from Vikarabad, who had stolen Rs 19 lakh from his employer’s friend, was arrested by the Ibrahimpatnam police along with his friend on Tuesday.
According to the Ibrahim-patnam police, Sunnapu Raju alias Balraju (23), a native of Neetur village, had come to the city in 2012 seeking a job. Being a school dropout, Raju did several jobs at hotels, farming and also worked as an auto driver. In 2014, he met Md Sharif (24) of Kurnool at Chandanagar. He was an accused in theft and robbery cases. Around 40 days ago, Raju’s friend got him a job as a car driver with Satyanarayana Reddy.
On July 18, Satyanarayana asked Raju to go to Elimindu village and take his friend Narsimha Reddy to Ibrahim-patnam sub-registrar office. When Narsimha went inside the SRO office, Raju fled with a cash bag containing Rs 19 lakh.
“Raju directly went to Sharif and gave Rs 10,000 to Sharif, Rs 90,000 to his relative Balachandrudu and kept the remaining amount with him. Raju and Sharif were caught at Vanasthalipuram and Rs 17.76 lakh in cash were recovered,” said the police.
