Online Hyderabad sex racket busted

In another incident, the police raided a brothel in Kushaiguda and rescued a woman.

Hyderabad: The Cyberabad SOT busted an online prostitution racket and rescued two sex workers. One organiser was arrested. Police said the organisers used to update details about the sex workers on websites and once a customer posts contact details on the site, they approach them and supply girls.

In another incident, the police raided a brothel in Kushaiguda and rescued a woman. The police arrested the organiser and four men.

Police said, Delhi natives Neeraj Kumar and Rakesh came to Hyderabad a few months ago and were staying at Jubilee hills. They launched a website hitechcitygirls.org and uploaded details of the girls.

The SOT which came to know about the website conducted a decoy operation and posted their contact number on the site. The organisers contacted them and a deal was struck to supply two girls for Rs 25,000 each for a night.

Initially they insisted that the customers must come to their place but later, the organisers agreed to bring the girls.

"One of them operates from an office and the other accompanies the girls to the customer. They travel in hired cabs," Malkajgiri SOT inspector M. Surender Goud said. While Neeraj and the other two girls were travelling towards Uppal, police intercepted them.

The girls who are in their mid-twenties were sent to a rescue home, while Neeraj was remanded to custody. One of the girls belongs to Kashmir and the other is from Delhi. Police said they can get detailed information about the business only after nabbing Rakesh, who is absconding.

Meanwhile, SOT teams raided a house in the Green Park Enclave of Kushaiguda and arrested an organiser named A. Laxmi Mithili and customers V. Kishore Kumar, Aayan Khan, B. Ramesh and G. Srisailam. The police rescued a 26-year-old sex worker.

The arrested persons were booked under the Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act and were remanded to custody. The woman was sent to a rescue home.
