Hyderabad: The Rachakonda SOT busted a gaming racket in Chaitanyapuri, and arrested a five-member gang, including a retired police official and an advocate. The suspects are N. Rangareddy, 60, N. Ravinder Reddy, 52, R. Narender Reddy, 58, V. Apparao, 47, and M. Venkatesh, 59.
Police said that Rangareddy, a retired ASI, Apparao, an advocate, Venkatesh and Ravinder Reddy, employees of private firms and Narender Reddy, who retired from a private sector job, used to gather in a flat in Hanuman Nagar. Based on credible information, a police team raided the flat and detained the suspects. They also seized cash and other material.
In the other incident, the SOT raided a house in Kushaiguda, arrested nine persons and seized cash and other material from them. The teams also raided another house in Saket in Jawaharnagar where the tossing coins game was being organised. Police arrested five persons and seized Rs 52,090, mobile phones and three bikes.
