Hyderabad: Argument over Rs 100 leads to murder
Hyderabad: An argument between two drunks over Rs 100 resulted in the death of one person at Moosapet on Thursday. Syed Pasha was allegedly struck on the head by the accused, who has not been identified yet. Pasha died on the spot.
Police said Pasha, 35, of Marutinagar used to work as a painter and used to meet with the accused in the Moosapet labour adda every day.
On Thursday, they went to a toddy compound located on the Goods Shed Road at Moosapet and got drunk. After coming out, Pasha reportedly asked the accused about the Rs 100 he had lent a long ago. This led to an argument and a scuffle, and witnesses alleged that Pasha beat the accused for money. They were separated by passers by.
The scene shifted to Marutinagar, when they scuffled again. The accused assaulted Pasha with a stick on his head. Kukatpally inspector V. Prasanna Kumar said Pasha died on the spot and the accused fled.
Inquiries revealed that the accused used to come to the labour adda every day and some witnesses said they could identify him.
“We are analysing footage to ascertain how the incident happened. Based on the evidence, the investigation will proceed.” the inspector said. Pasha is survived by his wife and two children.
