Mumbai: A Mumbai police inspector’s wife, Deepali Ganore (42), has been found murdered at her Santa Cruz residence on Wednesday.

The police also found a message and a smiley scribbled in blood, which reads: “I am tired of her. Catch me and hang me J.”

When the deceased’s husband Dnyaneshwar Ganore (49) had returned home at 4.30 am, he found his wife’s body lying in a pool of blood with her throat slit. Mr Ganore was part of the police team that had detected and probed the April 2012 Sheena Bora case.

Police suspect the role of the deceased’s 21-year-old son, Siddhant, a drop out of an engineering college, in the murder as he has been missing since Tuesday evening. Siddh-ant had left his mobile phone at home, making the police’s task of identifying his location difficult.

Sources said that prima facie it seems the son has murdered his mother, with whom he had constant fights over his bad grades and his dropping out of the college.
