Man cremates daughter's body after preserving it for a month
Kannauj: A man, who had preserved his daughter’s body following her alleged suicide over a month ago, on Wednesday cremated her after a fresh postmortem was conducted by a panel of doctors in Uttar Pradesh’s Kannauj.
The postmortem was conducted by a panel of three doctors in the presence of investigating officer from GB Nagar and district administration officials, police said.
Vishamber Yadav, Ritu Yadav’s father, expressed satisfaction with the postmortem and later cremated the body.
He had preserved his daughter’s body by using chemicals and kept it in a coffin after Ritu allegedly committed suicide by jumping from her seventeenth floor flat in Greater Noida on April 20.
On Tuesday, he had met the District Magistrate and ‘sought justice’ for his daughter.
Ritu, an engineering student at a private university in Greater Noida, was allegedly wary of facing her parents after her flatmates told them about a shoplifting accusation against her.
In her suicide note, she accused her four flatmates of mentally and physically torturing her. The girls were arrested for abetting Ritu’s suicide and sent to jail. The Noida police have filed the chargesheet in the case.
Vishambhar Yadav had preserved the body as he wanted the administration to conduct another autopsy at the Agra forensic lab and register a case of murder.
