BHUBANESWAR: A temple priest allegedly molested a married woman in Odisha’s capital city and made the video of the act go viral.

As per a complaint lodged by the victim at Mahila police station here, Saroj Kumar Dash, the accused priest, had promised to provide her a loan against her gold ornaments.

The woman went to his house for mortgaging her gold ornaments, during which Dash offered her a drink after spiking it.

After consuming the drink, the woman fell unconscious following which Saroj Dash molested her and recorded the act with a mobile phone.

Using that video, the priest later blackmailed the victim into having physical relations with him. However, the woman rejected his demands.

The accused eventually sent the video to her husband, relatives and friends via Facebook and WhatsApp.

Police has started investigation into the incident by recording the woman’s statement. Meanwhile, a five-year-old girl was on Tuesday allegedly raped by a minor at Gosala village under Burla police station limits in Odisha's Sambalpur district.

The accused, a 15-year-old boy, who happens to be a neighbour of the victim, was arrested on the basis of a complaint lodged by the victim's parents at Burla police station.

The police produced the accused before the Juvenile Justice Board.

According to reports, the victim, who was playing outside her house was allegedly lured by the accused to his house and raped.
