Telangana: Leather trader found murdered

The body of Imtiyaz was found decomposed with injuries on the head and a plastic wire tied to his throat.

Hyderabad: A leather trader from Tamil Nadu was found murdered in a flat in Rajendranagar on Monday. The body of Imtiyaz was found decomposed with injuries on the head and a plastic wire tied to his throat. The flat was taken on rent last Wednesday by Imtiyaz and his business partner. Police suspect his partner for the murder and he is absconding since last Thursday.

Police said that Imtiyaz and his partner Nissar Ahmed hailing from Bengaluru, came to Hyderabad for business and they approached estate agent Lateefuddin for a flat. He showed them a flat in Mehdipatnam, but since it gets vacated only on April 25, the duo agreed to stay in another flat owned by one M.A. Waheed in Moghul Meadows in Chintalmet till then.

They moved into the flat with their luggage on Wednesday. On Thursday, Nissar left the room locking it from outside and did not return till Sunday. On Monday morning, a resident of the apartment complex detected foul smell emanating from the locked flat and informed the owner who alerted the police. Police broke open the door and found Imtiyaz's decomposed body in the bathroom. “There were injuries on the forehead and a plastic wire was tied around his throat. There were blood stains in the hall also. We suspect they quarrelled with each other over financial issues and that led to the murder,” Rajendra-nagar inspector V. Umender said.

After receiving a complaint from the apartment owner, police registered a murder case and send the body for autopsy. Clues team visited the spot and collected clues. Police has set up special teams to track down Nissar Ahmed.
