Producer Ajay Krishnan found dead at home in Thirumullavaram
Kollam: A young film producer and serial actor allegedly committed suicide at his house in Thirumullavaram here on Saturday night.
Ajay Krishnan (29) of Devikripa, Manayilkulangara, had appeared in TV serials and feature films and a new movie he produced Avarude Ravukal was in post-production.
The movie had its preview show at a theatre in Ernakulam a day back. Police suspects he was under depression after the show, not being confident of its outcome and also feared financial losses. He had spent Rs 4 crore on the movie starring Asif Ali and Unni Mukundan.
Kollam West police said he had casual conversation with his parents and one of his friends at his house in Thirumullavaram on Saturday by 7 pm and left for the washroom. He was found hanging from the ceiling fan of his bedroom by around 7.30 pm.
He was soon taken to a nearby hospital where he was declared brought dead. Mr Krishnan is the son of Radhakrishna Pillai and Jayakumari. He also leaves a sister who is married and settled abroad.
He studied electronics and communication engineering at Mahatma Gandhi College of Engineering, Thiruvananthapuram. He completed his schooling at the SNDP higher secondary school in Kollam.
